Mr. William L. "Bill" Goins, 80, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Bill was born in Cleveland County, NC on May 3, 1934 a son of the late Clarence Goins and Barbara Moss Goins.  He was retired as a long line driver with Cargo Transport.  As a child Bill grew up in Cleveland County and attended Buffalo Baptist Church in Shelby, he later moved his membership to Gospel Way Baptist Church in Cherryville where he served as a former Trustee.  Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Harris Goins; second wife, Bessie Hamrick Goins; and a brother, Carroll Goins.

Survivors include two sons, Randy Goins and wife Wanda and Jarrod Goins; three daughters, Cheryl Underdown, Pam Goins, Tracy Crawley and husband Tony all of Lincolnton; a sister Irene Grigg of Kings Mountain; 10 grandchildren
and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 12:45 to 1:45PM at Buffalo Baptist Church in Shelby.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2:00PM at Buffalo Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Grigg officiating.

Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard.
