Martha Blanton Jonas, age 73, resident of Colony Drive, Kings Mountain, NC died July 24, 2011 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby, NC.  She was born in Cleveland Co. NC to the late Homer Irvin and Willie Horn Irvin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Z.B. “Tommy” Blanton, brother, Pinkney Irvin, sister, Lily Irvin, and  grandchildren, Tarla Rayne Blanton, and Braxton Zayne Blanton.   She was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC and retired from Hamricks Industry, Kings Mtn. NC.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Daughters: Rita Blanton, and husband Jonathan Rich, Ridgefield, CT

Sisters: Ruby Holliday, Ninety Six, SC; Nellie McNeely, Shelby, NC; Vergia Strange, Shelby, NC.  

4 Grandchildren: Erin Hudson, Julie Hudson, Olivia Blanton-Rich and Sabrina Blanton-Rich.

  11:00 A.M.  Rev. Travis Northcutt, officiating.

VISITATION: 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Friday evening, August 5, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain NC other times at the home of the son, Jonie Blanton, 809 Oak Grove Road, Kings Mountain, NC
