Shelby Lions Club Distributes Food
Thursday, June 24, 2010 3:04 pm The Shelby Lions Club distributed food to 5,800 persons and 2,674 families - during a commodities distribution on June 7th, 8th, and 9th. Three tractor-trailer trucks were needed to deliver the nearly 85,000 pounds of food to the Cleveland County Fairground for the event. The value of the items was $58,495. Project Supervisor J.D. Baldree reports that thirty six community volunteers were called on to help the The Lions host the surplus commodidies distribution as a quarterly event.
