A BIG THANK YOU!

A BIG THANK YOU!
Students and staff of Jefferson Elementary School gathered for a group photo at the end of school. The entire school participated in a school community garden project provided by Eat Smart Move More and the Cleveland County Health Department. Jefferson is one of six schools in the county that received teaching gardens on campus. The gardens promote physical activity, good nutrition choices and help relieve hunger in the community. The gardens are being cared for over the summer by area churches. Students will be able to plant fall crops upon returning to school. For more information about the school community garden program contact Julie Weathers, program coordinator at 704-669-3138 or julie.weathers@clevelandcounty.com.    Photo Provided by Jefferson Elementary
