Mr. Adrian Lamar Roberts, 33, of 5016 Bowden Drive Shelby, NC was called home by the Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

He was born on August 26, 1980 in Cleveland County to Cynthia Briscoe Young and Barney Darnell Roberts.

Adrian was a 1998 graduate of Burns High School and attended A & T State University.  He completed Quality Barber School and was employed as a licensed barber for the last ten years.  He was most recently employed with W2 Barber Shop and Hair Salon in Shelby.

Adrian enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles as well as fixing cars.  In fact, he was the person everyone in his family went to if they needed help because he had a natural talent for fixing anything.  Though he was reserved and quiet by nature, his character and actions spoke volumes about him.  He was a very family oriented, selfless and patient person always taking time to help others with their needs which included spending time on his days off cutting his grandparents hair.  He was a non-complainer with a unique smile and laugh who got along with everyone. He loved his family and was an encouraging and motivating force in their lives and one they could always depend on for anything.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife and childhood sweetheart, Demicka Fuller Roberts; his parents, Cynthia Briscoe Young (George) of Shelby and Darnell Roberts of Kings Mountain, NC; two children, Tylayah Roberts and Omari Surratt ; a brother, Rodney Roberts (Rashika) of Greensboro, NC; a step-sister and brother, Wyshekia Nance (Kenji) of Shelby and Phillemon Gidney of Charlotte, NC;  four special cousins who were reared as his siblings, Tyeshia Briscoe of Lawndale, NC, Amia Briscoe of Raleigh, NC, Joshua Briscoe of Ft. Carson, CO and Jonah Briscoe of Shelby; maternal grandmother, Alma Briscoe of Shelby; paternal grandparents, Barney and Shirley Roberts of Kings Mountain, NC; his aunts and uncles, Jacqueline Sims of Shelby, Audrey Tate (Dennis) of Cherryville, NC, Durwin Briscoe (Velvet) of Shelby, Danny Roberts (Sylvia) of Kingstown, NC and Randy Roberts of Huntersville, NC; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas Harper (Deborah) of Shelby and Angela Harper (Ray) of Lawndale and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins and special friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Lawndale with Pastor Billy Houze officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church on Wednesday and at other times at the home of his mother, Cynthia Young, 205 E.
