Aileen Curtis Wright, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Fair Haven of Forest City.
Aileen was born Saturday, July 9, 1938 in Cleveland County to the late Don Eugene Curtis and Iris Scruggs Curtis. She was a graduate of Mooresboro High School, class of 1956. Aileen worked as a Rutherford County Deputy Tax Collector for thirty years before retirement. She was a faithful member of Drury Dobbins Baptist Church. Her greatest passion and love in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sister, Joyce.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Barry Lee Wright (Tracy) of Boiling Springs, NC; daughter, Susan Wright Johnson (Greg) of Ellenboro; grandchildren, Garrett Lee Wright (Matte) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Summer Bright Smith (Blake), Lucas Johnson (Anna) and Olivia Johnson all of Ellenboro; step grandchild, Hunter Weaver (Ashleigh); great grandchildren, Ivie Smith, Laylyn Roberts, Cooper Smith and Emma.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 25th at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church Tabernacle with Reverend Ronald Roberts and Reverend Trent Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the church chapel.
