Alan Dale Greene Sr., age 60, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away at his home on August 29, 2026.
He was born on August 22, 1966, to the late William "Preston" Greene and Mary "Pug" Fowler Greene. Alan served his community for many years as a member of the SDO fire service, notably serving alongside his son, Alan Jr. His personal interests also included fishing and attending local dirt track racing events. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Preston" Greene and Mary Greene, and an infant grandson, Cecil Alexander Greene. Alan is survived by his children, Alan Dale Greene Jr. (wife Kaade) of Forest City, NC, and Amanda Greene of Shelby, NC; his siblings, William "Bill" Greene, Shannon Greene, and Crystal Greene, all of Ellenboro, NC; and his six grandsons, Zachary Caleb Greene, Owen Ryan Greene, Leland Curtis Greene, Waylon Cooper Jones, Wade Connor Jones, and Lewis Alan Greene.
The family asks that you remember that Jesus loves you and that you are never too far gone to be saved by his grace. Knowing that Alan Sr. received Jesus into his heart brings lasting peace to his loved ones.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 3rd at Harrelson Funeral Home.
