Mr. Albert Reynolds Greene, 79, of 6050 Greene Farm Road passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center - Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County on August 14, 1933, he is a son of Corene Grigg Greene of Shelby and the late Albert Walton Greene.  Albert was a lifetime member of Double Springs Baptist Church and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was co-owner of Greene Brothers Dairy where he was a fourth generation farmer, milking cows himself for over fifty years.  Albert devoted his life to farming and providing for his family.  He strived to be a good example for his children and grandchildren and enjoyed sharing stories with his family and many friends, always thinking of others before himself.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Shirley S. Greene.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Sara Elizabeth Spangler Greene; two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lynn Greene and Steve Greene; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Tim Cabaniss and Susan and Todd Turner all of Shelby; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Gilbert and Nancy Greene of Shelby, Phillip Greene of Shelby, Bobby and Shirley F. Greene of Shelby, Randall and Glenda Greene of Shelby, and Henry and Susan Greene of Mint Hill, one sister and brother-in-law, June Carol and Paul Reichle of Fayetteville and eight
grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Johnson and husband, Brandon, Jim Cabaniss, Timothy Turner, Sara Turner, Tucker Greene, Lexie Greene, Mackenzie Greene, and Ethan Greene.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m.  Monday at Double Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Fryar officiating.   Burial will follow  in the church cemetery with military graveside rites. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
