Mrs. Alberta Sutton Rankin, 92 of 500 Monroe St. Shelby, NC passed away on June 26, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She as born on December 10, 1933 in Fulton County, GA to the late Bob and Mattie Bell Harris Sutton.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Rankin; her daughters, Betty Coates and Linda Kay Robbs; her brothers, Joseph Sutton, John Robert Sutton, Obbie Sutton, Bennie Sutton, J.T. Sutton, Willie Frank Sutton, James Sutton, Willie Bob Sutton and Roy Lee Sutton; and her sisters, Mary Ann Hargro, Annie Brown, Jessie Brooks Rainey, and Janie Mae Evans.

Mrs. Rankin leaves to cherish her precious memory to her loving daughters, Shirley Rankin and Mary Huskey (Ricky Huskey, devoted son-in-law); her devoted sons, Jeffrey Robbs, James Rankin, Keith Rankin and Kevin Rankin; her beloved grandchildren, Kenneth Rankin, Yikeisha Rankin, Wyshena Rankin, Donesha Rankin (Johnny) and Marickey'o Huskey; her cherished sister, Betty Sutton; fifteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two special nephews, Chavis and Courtney Hargro; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
