Mrs. Alice Virginia Hamilton McCoy was born in Gaston County, North Carolina on December 13, 1958 to the late Elease Brooks Hamilton and Thomas Charles Hamilton. She departed her earthly life at Atrium Health Charlotte on March 1, 2026.

Alice "Wolf" as she was fondly called by her family and friends was educated at Burns High School. She

Alice was preceded in death by her late husband Arthur Eugene McCoy; one sister, Cortina Hamilton; three brothers Johnny Brooks(Ann), Chester Brooks Sr. (Dovie) , and Hubert Hamilton; one sister in law, Delcie Hamilton; and one brother in law, Willie Lott.

Alice leaves to cherish fond and loving memories in the hearts of her sons, Menual Hamilton (Shamara) Jarrell Hamilton (Pam), and Derrick Watkin; daughter, Anja McCoy and a granddaughter that was reared in the home Kierra Addison; mother in law, Willie Mae Odoms; five sisters, Cathy Williamson, Fallie Hamilton, Jane Roseboro, Edna Lott, and Pearl Camp (Michael); three brothers, Alex Brooks Sr. (Lorriane), Thomas Hamilton, and Larry Hamilton (Kim); grandchildren, Al'ice Hamilton, Outumn Young, Ayana Young, Azian Byrd, Trenton Hamilton and Triston Hamilton; great grandchildren Jayceon Kirkpatrick, Charm Addison, Zachariah Jackson and Kassidy Jackson; and a special niece, Keon Hamilton and a host to nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Cherryville, NC. Burial took place at the church cemetery.
