Allen R. Clapper

Allen R. Clapper, 74, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on January 8, 2022. A native
of Huntingdon County, PA, he was born on January 19, 1947, to Ray D. and Florence Jane
Clapper of Saxton, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray D. Clapper. He is survived
by his loving wife of 53 years, Deborah J. Clapper (Yingling) of Shelby, NC; his mother, Florence
Stoler Clapper of Martinsburg, PA; two sisters, Judy Mykut and husband Richard of Middletown,
MD & Linda McMahan of Saxton, PA; sons, Brett Clapper and wife Stacey of Shelby & Corey
Clapper and wife Brenda of Richmond, KY; grandchildren, Courtney and Corbin of Shelby &
Andrew and Eli of Richmond, KY. He is also survived by a special aunt, Alice Clapper of
Martinsburg, PA, a special sister-in-law, Rebecca Hummel of Shelby, along with several nieces,
nephews, great nephews, and his loving Doberman, Branson.
Allen was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Saxton, PA where he accepted Christ
as his Lord and Savior at the age of 12. He was a devoted husband, father, and pappy who
dearly loved his wife and family.
Allen graduated from Tussey Mountain High School before attending and graduating from Penn
State University and he enjoyed a long, fulfilling career as an automotive engineer. After
retiring, he cherished long convertible rides through the mountains and trips to Edisto Island
State Park with his wife, Debbie. He enjoyed opening Carolina Firearm Coatings with his son,
Brett and discussing his love of Camaros with his son, Corey. He also enjoyed restoring his 1967
Jaguar and history discussions with his grandsons and sharing his love of art and drawing with
his granddaughter.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at Allen's home that he cherished and loved for
over 30 years with Debbie and his family. A memorial service will be held at a later date in
Saxton, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Doberman Rescue of the
