Cherryville - Mrs. Ann Holt Walker, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, surrounded by her family.

Ann was born on March 11, 1944 in Cleveland County, North Carolina a daughter of the late Landrum Paul Holt and Edith Rosella Shoemaker Holt. She worked as a clerk for Rutherford Electric and worked in data entry for Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation. She will be fondly remembered for her work with Gaston and Lincoln County Schools as a substitute teacher primarily at Cherryville Elementary School. Ann was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville, the Renee Crane Circle and was also a member of the Cherryville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 100.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Cathy Leonhardt and Kay Holt; two brothers, Jim and Bob Holt.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jerry R. Walker of the home; three sons, Scott Walker and wife Denise; Reggie Walker and wife Angela; Heath Walker all of Cherryville; four grandchildren, Olivia Walker High (Cameron); Harrison Walker (Sydney); Avery Walker Stevens (Jordan); Shyanne Dellinger. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:30PM to 3:45PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at First Baptist Church and at other times the family will be at the home.

A service to celebrate Ann's life will be held at 4:00PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Kinman officiating.

A private family inurnment will be held in the Cherryville Memorial Courtyard at the City Memorial Cemetery.
