Annabelle Rhoney Thomas
Tuesday, December 2, 2014 10:08 am Annabelle Rhoney Thomas, 100, of Old Shelby Road, Vale, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. She was born in Catawba County on December 21, 1913, to the late Ottis Otto Rhoney and Emma Beatrice Johnson Rhoney. She was a retired seamstress from from Crestline Furniture and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hubert Thomas, three brothers, Austin Rhoney, McClure Rhoney, and Edison Rhoney, one sister Clarsie Rhoney, and two nieces, Dorothy Shuford and Nezzie Huffman. She is survived by one nephew, Lee Rhoney of Hickory and two nieces, Faye Hogan of Valdese and Tawanna Jarrett of Vale. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Pat Smock, Melody Morgan, Amanda Carswell, Neita Holden, Lisa Rhoney, and all the staff at Catawba Regional Hospice. Visitation, Sunday November 30, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Beulah Baptist Church, Vale. The family will also receive friends Saturday from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at 7043 Old Shelby Rd.
