Annie Laura Hoyle Bass, 104, of Cat Square Road, Vale passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

She was born on September 15, 1921 in Cleveland County, to the late Clemmie Hoyle and Affie Biggerstaff Hoyle. Mrs. Bass was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church and retired from the furniture industry. She lived her life with a grateful heart, full of compassion, wisdom and a willingness to serve. She will be remembered for loving her family and caring for others with a passion.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Bass, Sr.; son, George Clemmie Bass; daughter, Sara Ann B. Costner; two brothers, W.A. "Bill" Hoyle and June Hoyle; sister, Revella H. Hendrick and one great-great grandson, Paul Hunter Laney.

Mrs. Bass is survived by her son, Howard Bass, Jr. of Blacksburg, SC; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and three great-great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 2:00pm to 2:45pm at Palm Tree United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 3:00pm at Palm Tree United Methodist Church with Rev. Pat Hannon officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
