Mr. Anthony Odell Byers, 65, of Kings Mountain, NC passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at his residence. He was born on September 13, 1960 in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Odell Peak Chalk and the late Mary Lena Byers.

In memory, in addition to his parents and grand-parents, Anthony was preceded in death by four brothers, Micheal, Leonard, Scott Byers, and Terry (Tank) Chalk.

Those who remain. . .his memory will be cherished by his children, daughter, Tosha Forney of Charlotte, NC; son, Anthony Odell "AJ" Byers of Kings Mountain, NC; grandson, Amin Patton; six sisters, Barbara (Ernest) Davis, Wanda (Marvin) Falls of Gastonia, NC, Frances (Calvin) Byers of Vallejo, CA, Vivian (Terry) Byers of Bessemer City, NC, Mary Jane (Jeffery) Falls of Lowell, NC, Veronica Byers of Kings Mountain, NC; four brothers, Ronnie (Gladys) Byers of Kings Moun-tain, Douglas Byers of Boca Raton, FL, Denorris (Miriam) Byers of Kings Mountain, NC, Gerald Byers of Kings Mountain, NC; sister-in-law, Monica Byers of Kings Mountain; one aunt, Ester Wingo of Kings Mountain, NC; a special friend, Delores Ratchford of Kings Mountain, NC and a tremendous host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m.
