  Beach Bash VBS will start Friday June 10 at 6:30pm-8:00pm. At Way of the Cross Free Will Baptist church, located at 875 East Zion Church Road, Shelby. Come on out to the Beach and lets have some fun learning about our Savior Jesus. Saturday we will be starting at 10:00am untill and will be having Cowabunga Burgers and Hang Loose Hotdogs on the grill.

       Zoar Baptist Church in Casar, will hold a Great Commission Car Show on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Church, located at 130 Zoar Church Rd., Casar. Racing Legend “The Famous Flintstone Flyer” Mike Duvall will be the guest speaker at this event. Contemporary and Southern gospel group “Grace Revealed” will be performing, starting at 11 a.m. Car show entry fee is FREE. Spectator Admission is FREE. Entertainment is FREE. Games and Crafts are FREE. Registration will be from 9 AM until 12 pm.  Judging will begin at 12 p.m. Guest speaker and awards ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. New Home United Methodist Church will be offering concessions with proceeds being applied to the completion of their fellowship hall. Zion Hill Baptist
  Zion Hill Baptist Church located at 8173 Old NC 18, Lawndale will have a Fish Fry Fundraiser, Saturday, June 11th to help send our kids to camp this summer.  Time will be 4-6 PM.  Cost will be donations.  Meal includes fish, french fries, slaw, hush puppies, dessert, and drink for dine in. Aldersgate UMC
   A community Breakfast will be held on Saturday, June 11 at Aldersgate UMC on Hwy 74. We will serve from 7:00 until 9:30 A M. A delicious country breakfast of eggs, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, grits, ham, bacon, liver mush, sausage, coffee, juice and all the trimmings will be served. The breakfast is open to the entire community, cost is $6.00. We serve in the Epworth Buillding (look for the cars). The money raised benefits the “Here We Grow Again” campaign. So mark your calendar, spread the word, and plan to attend the next breakfast. The breakfast is always the second Saturday of the month.
 
New Bethel Church, Shelby
  His Glory Quartet Benefit Concert for Crossroads Rescue Mission will be held Saturday, June 11th. Admission is FREE! Donations will be taken for Crossroads Rescue Mission (a non-profit organization combatting substance abuse on an individual basis. CRM houses up to 45 men in a drug free environment and is located at 206 Mt. Sinai Church Rd., Shelby.
Anew Beginning Baptist, Kings Mtn.
  Our Seniors is having A HUGH YARD SALE, Raffle and Breakfast Biscuits, Saturday June 11 from 7am - Until at the Church, located at  415 Dixon School Road, Kings Mountain (I-85 exit 5 Across from the Truck Stop) Rain or Shine. Proceeds will go toward a Church Van and the Building Fund.
 
Beulah United Methodist Church, Shelby
       A Youth Benefit Yard and Hot Dog Lunch will be held Saturday, June 11th, starting at 7:00 am. Biscuits and Coffee will be for sale and from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm will sell Hot Dog plates (1 hot dog)for $5.00 and for a 2 hot dog plate cost $6.00. The plate includes the hot dog, chili, slaw, chips, dessert and a drink. The church is located at 1534 Stoney Point Rd., Shelby.

Wilson Baptist Church, Forest City
       Wilson Baptist Church, 3617 Whitesides Rd., Forest City will hold Memorial Day, Sunday, June 12, 2011. A short Sunday School will be held at 10:00.        “Beach Blast” will be the theme for our Vacation Bible School at Dover Baptist Church this year. The church is located at 1500 Polkville Road, Shelby. Our VBS Kickoff will be held Sunday, June 12 from 4:30 to 6:45 (prepare to get wet). VBS Supper will be held Monday-Thursday, June 13 - 16 from, 5:15 to 6:00; and VBS Instruction will follow the supper each night from 6:00 to 8:00; and then on Friday, June 17, our VBS Celebration from 4:30 to 7:00. Our VBS is for children ages 2 - 12. Adult class will be available.
