Artie Mae Cooke Davis, 90, of Vale, passed away on Thursday, June 04, 2026, at her home.

She was born on August 5, 1935, in Cleveland County, and was a daughter of the late Jakie Everette Cook and Mary Elizabeth Lail Cook. She was retired from the furniture industry and was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. Artie enjoyed eating with the Lunch Bunch at Cat Square, visiting friends and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, Steve Davis; a daughter, Terri Davis Ruppe; two grandchildren, Brent Davis and Shawn Buff; two brothers, Cecil Cook and Everette Cook; and two sisters, Louise Doster and Sue Watts.

Artie is survived by her son Michael Davis and wife Pamela of Vale; two daughters, Elaine Buff and husband Jerry and Scottie Matthews and husband Kenneth all of Vale; brother, Carl Cook of Vale; seven grandchildren, Brandi Leatherman and husband Randy, Misty Johnson and husband Dwight, Tiffany Matthews, Chad Matthews, Lanny Bivens and wife Lynn, Chasta Buff, and Chris Buff and Lisa; thirteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Jonathan LeMaster-Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery in Vale, NC.
