Austin David Upton, 19, of Fallston, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Born on December 5, 2006, in Lincoln County, Austin was a beloved son of Wesley Lemar Upton and Shelley Lynn Clary Upton of Fallston. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church.

Austin was a young man with a kind heart, a caring spirit, and a genuine love for others. He had a special way of putting the needs of those around him before his own, and his thoughtfulness and compassion touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

A 2024 graduate of Burns High School, Austin was continuing his education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he was pursuing a degree in computer and electrical engineering. He was a bright young man with a promising future, a passion for learning, and dreams he was working hard to achieve.

Austin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time outdoors deer hunting, playing his guitar, and enjoying video games. Whether pursuing his interests or spending time with those he loved, Austin brought his own quiet and special presence to every moment.

In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his big brother, Acie Upton of Fallston; his grandparents, Trudy and David Clary of Earl; Dale Upton of Fallston, and Bertha Blalock of Ranlo; three aunts; three uncles; and two cousins.

Austin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Susie Upton.

A funeral service to celebrate Austin's life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Burns High School, with Pastor Mike and the Rev. Chris Devine officiating.

Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund in Austin's memory, 129 Jim Cline Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.
