Austin Franklin Royster, Jr, 80, of Blacksburg, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home.

Born in Cleveland County, on March 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Austin Franklin Royster, Sr and Mary Elizabeth Botts Royster. He was retired from Hertz Celanese after thirty-five years of service. Junior was an avid horseman who shod and traded them. He spent countless hours hunting, welding and just peddling.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Linda Crowder Royster, son, Todd Royster and wife Tammy of Shelby; daughter Destiny Arrowood of Blacksburg; stepchildren, Daniel Arrowood of Blacksburg, Travis Arrowood and wife Brittany of Spartanburg; and Crystal Daniel and husband Joe of Blacksburg; two sisters, Beth Tillman of Lawndale and Sheila Peters and husband Thomas of Shelby, five grandchildren Taylor Royster and fiancée Megan Morrison and Tori Younce and husband Ethan, Jessie Powell, McKayle Foster and Levi Arrowood; great grandson Karson Younce.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Ray Arrowood officiating.
