Blacksburg - Barbara Summitt Pennington Allison, 79, of 530 Rock Springs Road, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

Born in Gastonia, NC, she was married to Carl Pennington for 46 years until he passed away and then to Ben Allison. Barbara was the daughter of the late Mack and Isabell Phillips Summitt. She attended Grover First Baptist Church and formerly worked in textiles.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Carla O'Bryan, Christine Dysart, and Kelly Warburton (Kevin); her brother, William "Bill" Summitt (Betty); two grandchildren, Cannon and Abbie Warburton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ben Summitt, Katie Hargett, and Mark Summitt; and her son-in-law, Stuart Dysart.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 at 11:00 am at Rock Springs Baptist Church with rev. Scott Kierstead officiating. Cannon Warburton, Greg Summitt, Dwayne Summitt, Todd Gibson, Clay Greer, and Terry Knight will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence.
