Beatrice Bennett Robbins, age 78, of Forest City, NC, died December 30, 2013 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born May 12, 1935 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late William Bennett and Bertha Wilson Bennett. She worked for Cone Mills for many years and was a past member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church. Beatrice enjoyed walking, reading and working puzzle books.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hezzie B. Robbins; son, Gary John Bennett; step-son, Doug Robbins and two brothers, Howard Bennett and Lawson Bennett.
Survivors include three sisters, Edna Bailey of Chesnee, SC, Estelle Jackson and husband, Hoyle of Sunnyview, NC and Brenda Poteat of Sandy Mush; brother, Glen Bennett and wife, Kay of Columbus, NC; step-son, Don Robbins of Florida and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of choice.
