Mrs. Bessie “Lucille” Porter Greene, 82, of  2414 Blacksburg Road, Grover, NC,  passed away Monday, May 10, 2010. Services were held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Greene; her parents, C.N. and Gertrude Champion Porter; 1 grandson, Eric Pettigrew; and 1 brother, Bobby Porter.

She is survived by 1 son, Lorne Greene and wife Sandra of Mooresboro, NC; 3 daughters, Brenda Page and husband Bruce of Shelby, Rita Davis of the home, and Darlene Bumgardner and husband Harold of Polkville; 1 sister, Evelina Panther and husband H.K. of Shelby; 2 brothers, Norman Porter and wife Brenda of Kannapolis, and Gene Porter and wife Joy of Augusta, GA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Jackie Cook of Shelby, and Joan Spencer and husband Richard of Oak Grove; a number of special friends; and many cousins.
