Betty Jo Mull Mellon, 89, of Casar, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at her residence.

Betty was born on June 23, 1936 in Cleveland County, to the late Pete Mull and Essie Costner Mull. After she retired from Doran Mill, she enjoyed spending time with her husband operating his wrecker service. Betty also loved God, family, sewing, music and yard work. She was a member of Midview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Mellon; son, Randy Mellon; two sisters, Doris Ann McCurry and Elaine Shoup and four brothers, Earl Mull, Robert Mull, Wayne Mull and Walter Mull.

Betty is survived by her goddaughter, April Costner and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Lara, Leslie, Lucas Wellmon and Paden Costner; daughter-in-law, Wanda Ward; three sisters, Pat Carpenter of Cherryville, Marlene Parker of Casar and Jeanette Canipe of Belwood; two sisters-in-law, Ellie Mull of Fallston and Brenda Mellon of Shelby and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 10:45am to 11:45am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 1:00pm at Cleveland Memorial Park with Rev. Homer Tesseneer officiating.
