Billy Ray Collins, 87 of Curtis Road, Mooresboro, passed away Tuesday, February 3 at Atrium Health- Cleveland Hospital in Shelby North Carolina. Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ottis D. Collins and Mary Magdeline Hamrick Collins. He retired as a spinner and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Lattimore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Davis Collins; siblings, Wayne Collins, James Collins, Bobby Collins, Buddy Collins, Reba Sisk, Brenda Pearson, Mildred Peterson and Linda Thompson.

Billy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Dona Barton Collins; daughter, Sandy Collins; stepdaughter, Misty Marshall and fiancé, Chris Masters; four grandchildren, Natalie West, Emma West, Robert Marshall and Elizabeth Marshall; siblings, Tommy Collins, Betty Scott, and Patsy Stroup.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 1:00pm to 1:45pm at Stamey- Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2:00pm Stamey- Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Reese officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
