Billy Seay

Billy Seay, age 87, of Forest City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Oak Grove Nursing and Healthcare.
Billy was born Sunday, December 11, 1938 in Rutherford Couty to the late James Seay and Lavada Lowery Seay. He was a graduate of Tri-High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army. When Billy was younger, he worked as a Brick and Block Mason and later worked as a metallurgist at Torrington/Timken Industries for over twenty years. Billy was a faithful and longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was dedicated to helping veterans and spent time taking them to Dr.'s appointments and on Veteran's Honor Trips. He served many years on the Rutheford County Honor Guard and the American Legion. Billy was also a member of the CHASE Lions Club and also delivered Meals on Wheels for the Rutherford County Senior Center. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, who loved God and his country.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph "Boney" James Seay.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-four years, Roberta Seay; daughter, Lesley Watson (Spencer) of Rutherfordton; son, Kevin Seay (Vicki) of Texas; sister, Trina Greene (Max) of Caroleen; grandchildren, Danielle Thompson (Matt), Kyle Watson (Taylor), Michelle Seay (Olivia) and two great grandchildren, Selah Watson and Sadie Watson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 21st with Reverend Ted Blakenship officiating. The family will receive friends on hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
