Bobby Gene Pyron, Sr., 81, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on August 29, 1944, he was the son of the late Clarence Ernest Pyron and Ruby Hester Sipe Pyron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Pyron.

Bob worked for Sears for over 27 years. On January 1st 2000, he started Pyron Repair Services and operated the business until his retirement on December 31, 2025.

He was a faithful member of Sharon Church in Shelby. Bob volunteered his time whenever needed and was active in the Wednesday night children's program, where he served as a father figure to many of the children. He was always willing to help with repairs around the church and often did so quietly without seeking recognition.

Bob loved his family and his church family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Blanton Pyron; his children, Gwen Triplett (Tim) and Gene Pyron, Jr. (Alice); his grandchildren, Aaron Triplett (Hannah), Rebecca Hutchins (Kyle), Malia Pyron, Jed Pyron (Molly), and Lana Pyron; and his great-grandchildren, Whitley Triplett and Arlie Pyron.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Sharon Church in Shelby, with Pastor M.D. Lee officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
