Bobby Lee Russ, 78, of Shelby, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born on August 22, 1946, Bobby lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.

On April 17, 1965, Bobby married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Goins, beginning a partnership of nearly 60 years filled with devotion and shared purpose. Together, they raised two sons: Tim Russ (Elizabeth) of Polkville, NC, and Brian Russ of Atlanta, GA.

Bobby devoted 35 years of his professional life to Fiber Industries, where he was a respected and valued employee until his retirement. His commitment to service extended beyond the workplace and into every aspect of his life.

A faithful member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church, Bobby served with distinction as both a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, reflecting his unwavering faith and dedication to his church family. His integrity and leadership were also evident in his long-standing involvement with Camp Call Masonic Lodge #534, where he served as both Master of the Lodge and Treasurer.

Bobby was a proud grandfather to Philip Russ (Hannah) of Shelby and Kristin Davis (Blake) of Kings Mountain. He cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Raegan Chandler and Hollie Catherine Russ, finding immense joy in their laughter and love.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur "Doc" Russ; his mother, Ellerea Bolin, and stepfather, John Bolin; and his brother, Wayne Russ.

Bobby's life was a testament to service, love, and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.

A funeral service to remember the life of Bob will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Ervin and Philip Russ officiating. Internment will follow int he Double Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 pm Monday prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
