Boiling Springs Booster Basketball Skills Camp at Crest High School

Boiling Springs Booster Basketball Skills Camp at Crest High School
Pictured are students, age 5-12 who attended the Crest Basketball Camp with the Charlotte Bobcats this summer. Keith Rhodes, Crest High Basketball Coach and Enrollment Counselor at Gardner Webb College lead the camp. The money raised supports the basketball program at Boiling Springs Elementary. Kids learned the fundamentals of the game basketball: shooting technics, passing, dribbling, proper defensive stance, rebounding, teamwork, communication, being respectful to your teammate and to your teacher, classmate, parents and in the community, being responsible, and having fun playing the game.  The kids enjoyed interacting with the Bobcats mascot Rufus.  Rufus provided entertainment, signed autographs  gave away free posters. Mr. Rhodes says,  I enjoy giving back to the community especially to the kids; they are the future. Some of my former and current players came out in support of the camp. I don't mind sharing my knowledge and skills with them; some things we should not put a price on and that's why it is a privilege for me to take the time and do this every year.” - Photo Furnished
