Borders Lee Mauney, 94, of Shelby, NC, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at his residence.

He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Roy Alvin Mauney and Jessie Borders Mauney on January 10, 1931.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Betty Mauney; two brothers, Eural Roy Mauney and Walter Thomas Mauney; and two sisters, Anice Mauney Brown and Reba Mauney Dancy; and grandson, Christopher Carson.
He leaves precious memories to his wife of 70 years, Lora Mae Carson Mauney; sons, Bernard Carson (Mary) of Shelby, NC, and Lee Mauney of Forest City, NC; five grandchildren, Travis Lee, Brandon Mauney (Chenelle), Markita Beam, Shaquella Largent, and Orlenzio Lee; six great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Mauney Roberts of Shelby, NC; special family friend, Samantha, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Washington Missionary Baptist Church.
