 Mr. Carl Anderson, 86, of 717 S. Washington Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010. Services were held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. A Private Burial followed in Ross Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Mr. Anderson served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s during peace time.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Myrtle H. Anderson; his parents, Quincy and Elizabeth Adams Anderson; 4 brothers, T.H., Frank, Sam, and Harley Anderson; and 5 sisters, Ella Anderson, Vese Withrow, Christene Hester, Doris Wiles, and Edna Huffman.

He is survived by 1 sister, Norma Anderson; a number of nieces and nephews from Hickory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
