Carl Evans Parker Jr, born on February 4, 1955, in Cleveland, passed away peacefully in his hometown Shelby on March 4, 2026, at the age of 71. His journey was one marked by passion, dedication, and an unwavering love for both his family and his work.

Carl spent his career at Freightliner in the textile industry, where he was known not only for his expertise but also for the genuine love he had for his craft. He took pride in every challenge that came his way and inspired others with his commitment and hard work. He was a faithful member of the Patterson Springs Baptist Church.

Beyond his professional life, Carl was a man of many passions. He found joy in racing cars and building engines, often bringing his mechanical talents into unusual places--once famously building an engine right in his kitchen. His enthusiasm for these hobbies was infectious and instilled a sense of wonder and excitement in those around him.

Carl's heart belonged to his beloved wife, Gloria Parker, whom he loved deeply. Together they built a life filled with warmth, laughter, and mutual respect. Devoted Husband and father and grandfather, son, and brother. He leaves behind a loving mother Delores F. Cody and the late Garland Cody. Carl's extended family is consistent with one biological daughter. . Angie Yancey and her three children Jessica Brooke and husband Casey Brooke, Quinton McCluney, Austin Parker,.l... All live in Shelby.Three step children Katie Sizemore and husband Josh Sizemore live in Easley South Carolina, Danielle Renew and husband James Renew live in Greenville South Carolina, Brandon Nanney of Shelby legacy will continue on through his grandchildren.Carl also leaves behind one brother Jimmy Wayne Parker in three step Brothers Jerry Parker, and Ricky and Steve Cody.

His extended family are Dennis Lemmons and Richard Lemmons of Lattimore, Carl had a very special relationship with his mother in law Margaret Lemons

In remembering Carl, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with passion, love, and resilience. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and inspiration that will continue to guide those who knew and loved him. To all who had a special place in his heart.
