Charles Billy Burleson, Sr., 58 of 109 East Ballard St., died June 6, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 28, 1954 in Mitchell Co. a son of Pauline Buchanan Burleson of Cherryville and the late Jack Burleson. Billy attended the First Baptist Church, Cherryville, was formerly employed by PYA Monarch as a driver and supervisor, and presently employed by the Cleaning Professionals for the past 19 years.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 40 years Vanessa Jane Pruitt Burleson, children Charles Billy Burleson, Jr., Michael Burleson and Dana Marie Burleson all of Cherryville, three grandchildren Heaven Burleson, Kaeley Burleson, and Caleb Burleson, sister Denise Baucom(Mike) of Gastonia and brother David Burleson(Phyllis) of Cherryville.
A Memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner
officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday at the Church from 1:45-2:45 PM and at other times at the home.
