Charles Boyd Wilson
Charles Boyd Wilson, 80, of Latham Wilson Road, Lawndale, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Lakewood Care Center in Denver.
He was born in Cleveland County on March 29, 1936 to the late Latham Maxwell Wilson and Emma Gold Wilson. Boyd retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and served during the Vietnam Conflict. After his retirement, he returned home where he worked as a cattle farmer and was a member of Kadesh United Methodist Church and Upper Cleveland American Legion Post #527, Fallston.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert G. Wilson.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Doris Wilson of Lawndale; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and John Yarbro of Kings Mountain; two nephews and their wives, Johnny and Regina Yarbro and Terry and Renee Wilson; three nieces and their husbands, Mitzi and Charles Ramsey, Jill and Mike Hinson, and Julie and Quinton Rikard; ten great nieces and nephews and five great great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Monday, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.
The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, at 4:00 PM at Kadesh United Methodist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites with the Rev. Norris Willis officiating.
