Charles "Bud" Morris Daves
Charles "Bud" Morris Daves, 76, of New House Road, Shelby, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain.
He was born in Cleveland County on May 6, 1940 to the late Coy Clingman Daves and Essie Wiggins Daves. Bud retired from Ester Mill in Shelby after forty-six years of service. He attended Sandy Plains Baptist Church and was a member of the Windjammers Motorcycle Club.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Zane, Floyd and Robert Daves and two sisters, Virginia Gantt and Marie Norman.
He is survived by one son, Gene Daves and wife Carrie of Fallston; granddaughter, Grace Daves; four sisters, Jewel Canipe of Casar, Ann Faggart of Rockwell, Bell Brown of Charlotte, and Gilda Hunt and husband Steve of Shelby; sister-in-law, Annie Mae Daves of Lincolnton and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 PM at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, Shelby, with the Rev. Jeff Faggart and Mr. Richard McSwain officiating.
