Clara Nell Johnson Brendle, 84, of 141 Voyd Brendle Rd, Vale, died Sunday,
May 15, 2011 at Brian Center Health & Retirement in Lincolnton.

Born June 14, 1926 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of  the late Robert
Paul Johnson and Ethel Hull Johnson Hoyle.  She worked for Sweetree Mills of
Cherryville and later as a nurse for twenty years in the nursery of Lincoln
Medical Center.  Mrs. Brendle was a member of Hull's Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy
James Brendle; son, Niles Clay Brendle and sister, Helen Taylor.

Survivors include three daughters, Thelda Rhoney and husband, Rex, Trudy
Ritchie and husband, Ronnie and Crystal Tallent and husband, Jerry all of
Vale; brother, Richard "Bud" Johnson of Vale; sister, Belinda Watts of
Cherryville; seven grandchildren, Rexana Rhoney, Douglas Rhoney, Kiley
Tallent, Lindsay Sain, Jodie Morris, Jennie Ritchie and Jamie Brittain; five
great grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Morris, Aiden and Dylan Brittain and
Landon Sain.

Visitation: 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2011  at  Hull's Grove
Baptist Church, Vale.  At other times the family will be at the home of
Trudy Ritchie, 169 Voyd Ritchie Rd., Vale.

Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Hull's Grove Baptist
Church, Vale.

Officiating: Rev. Marcus Redding and Dr. Daniel A. Featherstone

Burial: Hull's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
