Clarence Robert Self, 87, of Dirty Ankle Road, Lawndale passed away on May 13, 2026 at his residence.

Clarence was born on June 18, 1938 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Enoch Self and Bessie Lail Self. He was self employed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Swink Self; two daughters, Sandra Braswell and Hilda Causby; son-in-law, David White; six brothers, Harold, Elijah, Carl, James, Fred and Sam Self and a sister, Josephine Ledford.

Clarence is survived by his daughter, Linda White of Lawndale; son, Dwight Self and wife, Tasha of Lawndale; seven grandchildren, Donnie Daniels, Scotty Daniels, Jonathan Self, Terry Self, Calvin White, Alex White and Anna Massey (Noah); ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; brother, David Self of Bostic and four sisters, Lula Mae Hudson of Georgia, Sue Hunt of Bostic, Ella Hurdt of Ellenboro and Martha Hamrick of Shelby.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Hoyle officiating.
