Cleveland County Farm Bureau Earns YF&R Program Award
The award ceremony took place during NCFB’s 75th Annual Meeting, Dec. 5-7, at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center, Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons. “North Carolina Farm Bureau members continually seek opportunities to improve the quality of life of farm and rural neighbors,” said Larry Wooten, president of NCFB. “County YF&R programs help prepare the next generation of North Carolina farmers to become agricultural and community leaders.” Cleveland County Farm Bureau’s YF&R Program was involved in humanitarian and educational initiatives and activities during 2010, including the following events: attendance at the YF&R Leadership Conference and AFBF Annual Convention; school and daycare visits to read to children about agriculture and farm safety; a fundraiser for the 4-H Calf Club; a Child Safety Day; and visits to Ashe, Cumberland and Duplin counties.
