Mrs. Clouggeon Hardin Crosby of 2729 Camp School Road, Shelby, NC, made a peaceful transition from this earth to be with the Lord in His heavenly home on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. Daughter of the late James Hardin and the late Ora Thompson Hardin, she was born on November 21, 1928, in Blacksburg, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 blessed years, the Rev. Noland Crosby; nine sisters, Ms. Geneve Hardin, Mrs. Cordella Hardin Mack, Mrs. Virlee Hardin Young, Mrs. Mozelle Hardin Ford, Ms. Ella Hardin, Mrs. Mary Hardin Smith, Mrs. Dorothy Hardin Surratt, Mrs. Reola Hardin Moody, and Mrs. Bertha Hardin Smith; and five brothers, Mr. Osrow Hardin, Mr. Theadore Hardin, Mr. James Hardin, Mr. Alexander Hardin, and Mr. Cleatus Hardin. Left to cherish many fond and loving memories is her family of eight children: Mrs. Louverne Crosby McCray (Mr. Leroy McCray) and Mrs. Joyce Brooks, both of Shelby, NC; Mrs. Paulette Crosby Jennings (Mr. John Jennings) of Columbia, SC; Mr. Kelly Crosby of Shelby, NC; Mr. Louis Crosby of Cherryville, NC; Ms. Claudette Crosby of Shelby, NC; Ms. Kathy Crosby of Gastonia, NC; and Mrs. (Elder) Oveda Crosby Miller of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Mrs. Bessie Crosby Littlejohn of Shelby, NC and brother-in-law, Mr. George Crosby of Shelby, NC. Sister Crosby was also blessed with nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several adopted daughters; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. at Young's Grove Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
