Corey Fortson passed away on April 10, 2026. He was a kind and compassionate soul with a deep love for video games, technology, and computer programming. Corey also had a special appreciation for animals and insects, reflecting his gentle nature and big heart.

He is survived by his loving mother, Rhonda Pruitt Fortson; his brother, Chase Patterson; and his grandfather, Jimmy Pruitt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chad Brown.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Sunset Cemetery at 3:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, Attn: Corey Fortson, to assist with the cost of his headstone.
