Cynthia Kay Johnson

Mrs. Cynthia Kay Johnson, age 71, of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of the late Nathanial Ulmont Tindall and Evelyn Adams Tindall. Mrs. Johnson had worked as a caterer and had a special gift for decorating cakes for events. She loved to help others and especially had a love for children. She also loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Hazel Tindall; brother-in-law, Thomas Mull.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James Gary Johnson, Sr.; son, James Gary “Tinker” Johnson Jr. and wife Jamie of Belwood; two grandchildren, David Johnson and wife Kim and Jennifer Melton and husband Josh; great granddaughter, Makenzie Johnson; brother, Phillip Tindall; sister, Judy Wheeler and husband Dan; adopted son, Scott Bradley and wife Myra; three nieces, Becca Berry, Renee Breazeale, and Lynn McDonald; brother-in-law, R.A. Johnson and wife Kay; sister-in-law, Lyndall Mull; several great nieces and nephews. She was considered a special mother too many others as well.
Visitation: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory from 6:30 – 8:00pm Funeral: 2:00pm Wednesday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Officiating: Dr. Paul Sorrells and Rev. Macky Turner Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
