Daniel Flay Dixon, age 67, passed away Saturday December 4, 2021 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born in Shelby, NC on October 14, 1954, he was the son of Marvin Royce Dixon and wife Dottie and the late Betty Faye Curtis Dixon. In addition to his mother, Betty Faye Curtis Dixon, Danny is preceded in death by his brother David Ray Dixon. A graduate of Shelby High School Class of 1972, Danny will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. His love for family was evident to all that knew him. Danny was also known to enjoy playing a round of golf and would jokingly boast about making a hole in one.

In addition to his father, Danny is survived by wife of 20 years Melanie Dixon, his two sons Matt Dixon and wife Hayley, and their daughter Emma and Evan Dixon. Danny is also survived by his sister Gloria Dixon Sherman and husband Steve, Danny's loving nieces and nephews; Laurel Deal, Daniel Sherman and wife Sarah, Kevin Sherman and wife Jessica, and April Bryant. Also left to cherish his memory is Danny's mother-in-law Edna "Nana" Goble and father-in-law Harry and wife Susan Goble, and his sister-in-law, Amanda Goble.

Celebration of life will be held 3:00pm Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. David Rabb officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.
