David Forrest Greene

David Forrest Greene

David Forrest Greene, affectionately known as David, strutted onto this planet on March 7, 1978, in Conway, SC and decided to take a permanent vacation from cooking for us mere mortals on April 16, 2025, in Wilmington, NC. Having graced this Earth for 47 vibrant years, David proved that life isn't just to be lived but savored with every possible spice. As the Head Chef at NOMA Restaurant in Wilmington, David was more than just a culinary maestro. He was affectionately dubbed "Our Singing Chef" by his coworkers, serenading sauté pans and channeling his inner Jimi Hendrix like only a true chef-rockstar could. Armed with a spatula in one hand and a guitar pick in the other, David turned ordinary kitchens into concert halls, and every meal was a sweet, savory symphony. Though he traded his chef's whites for paintbrushes or golf clubs during downtime, David's
passion for creating never wavered. Whether pedaling through local trails on his bike or
painting masterpieces that even titans of art would envy, he painted his own life's canvas with bold strokes and bright colors.
Surrounded by loved ones, his spirit is survived by his devoted parents, David and Sonja Greene, his beloved wife, Jem Greene, and an orchestra of many, many friends and coworkers who miss him dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate David's loving soul will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, April 26,
2025, at Christ The King with Pastor Mark Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one
hour prior to the service at Christ the King. Join us to remember a man whose life was not just
about living, but about sharing joy, laughter, and incredible meals with everyone fortunate
enough to know him.
So raise your glasses and guitars high, in memory of David - a man whose melody will linger
long after the last note has played.
