David Jackson Ledbetter
David Jackson Ledbetter went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012.
He was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Cherokee County, S.C., to the late Thomas
Edward and Macie Ramsey Ledbetter. He attended Love Valley Church in Kings
Mountain. He loved bluegrass and country music and loved dancing, which he
shared with many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Willie,
James, Daniel, John and Harvey, and a sister, Bertha Henson.
Survivors include one son, David Ledbetter Jr. and wife, Samantha, of
Gaffney, S.C.; two granddaughters, Brittany and husband Jonathan Rochester of
Germany and Emily Ledbetter of Gaffney; one great-grandson, Dalton, of Germany;
two brothers, Marvin Ledbetter and Tommie Ledbetter of Rock Hill, S.C.; five
sisters, Louise Moss and Carolyn Hinson of Rock Hill, Wilma Parker and husband,
Vann, of Monroe, Geraldine Robinson of Lakeland, Fla., and Shirley White and
husband, Ed, of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ledbetter of Statesville and
Lila Ledbetter of Rock Hill.
The family received friends at Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 11. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 at Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Lancaster officiating. Interment followed at Grover City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Wendover.
Lutz-Austell Funeral Home served the Ledbetter family.
