Blacksburg - David Randall "Randy" Martin Sr., 81, of Blacksburg, South Carolina, was born on July 17, 1945, in Gaffney, South Carolina, to the late John Martin and Ruth Humphries.

David lived a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to his family. A proud United States Marine, he continued a life of service as a law enforcement officer and, most importantly to him, as a pastor. David had a deep love for the Lord and a passion for preaching the Gospel. His faith was an important part of who he was and he was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

When he wasn't preaching or spending time with those he loved, David could often be found cheering on his beloved Atlanta Braves.

David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jolene Hampton Martin, as well as his parents, John Martin and Ruth Humphries.

He is survived by his children, David Martin Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Lance Shelton and his wife, April; his stepchildren, Teresa Parker, Tracey Parker, and Tina Parker; his siblings, Reggie Martin, Mike Martin, and Kelly Humphries; and his grandchildren, Brittaney Lecroy, whom he raised and loved as his own, Christopher Martin, Ryan Shelton, Lane Shelton, and Jared Shelton.

His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Lilly, Gracie, Sophia, Meredith, Isabella, and Zayne, each of whom held a special place in his family.

David wore many titles throughout his 81 years--a Marine, police officer, pastor, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. But beyond the titles, he will be remembered for his love of the Lord, his years of service to others, his love for his family, and the countless lives touched through his ministry.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Larry Melton officiating. Christopher Martin, Wesley Powell, Justin Mathis, Lyric Haney, Jared Shelton, and Lane Shelton will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
