Ms. Debbie Hayes, 51, of 417 Atlantic Ave. Shelby, NC departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2013 at her residence. She was born on July 25, 1962 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Jack and Flossie Allen Hayes.

Debbie was a 1981 graduate of Shelby High School where she excelled in track. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Debbie was a person who welcomed everybody.  She loved  listening to gospel music, reading her bible, watching track and field, wrestling and watching Madea movies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Hayes and a sister, Mary Williams.

Left to cherish her memory are one son, Bryan Hayes (Ashley) of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Whitney Hayes of Shelby; her siblings, Elizabeth Fuller (Harvey) of Kingstown, NC, Dean Allen of Gaffney, SC, Rev. Johnny Hayes (Mae) of Shelby, Jimmy Hayes of Shelby, Douglas Hayes (Vickie) of Gaffney, SC, Charlene Ross (Tommy) of Blacksburg, SC and Jackie Hayes (fiancé, Mark Taylor) of Polkville, NC; two nieces, who were raised in the home, Iesha Bell and Keria Bell; ten grandchildren, Omaryon Hayes, Aniya Hayes, Marquedris Hayes, Aliviya Hayes, Ta’Niyaa Clemmons, Ashtyan Hayes, Tysan Hayes, Brooklyn Hayes, Aubree Hayes and Jaterious Kee; two aunts, Lena Mae Watkins (Nelson) of Lawndale, NC and Estelle Procter of Shelby; one uncle, T.K. Watkins of Lawndale; a special niece, Shondrell Leon; special friends, Teresa Hamrick, Dana Allen, Mikala Logan, Rodney Abrams, Tyrone Allen and Gail Moore; her caregiver, Constance Wilson and a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Danté Murphy officiating.  Burial will take place at Webb Memorial Lawns.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at the church and at other times at her home.
