DeBrew Endowment to Benefit 4-H Program
The endowment will provide financial support to the Cleveland County 4-H Livestock Program, which coordinates the Dairy Steer Project... an intensive hands-on project that helps youth develop important life skills while raising a dairy calf over the course of 10 months. Since its inception in 2009, the project has placed 143 calves under the care of local youth ages 8 to 18. The endowment is unrestricted, meaning that it can be expanded to support other 4-H livestock activities, including a heifer chain or backyard poultry project. "Dad would like that", said son Cameron DeBrew at the recent Farm-City Week Breakfast, where the endowment was announced. Project participants at the Cleveland County Fair.
