Dewey David "Shadow" Hamrick


CHERRYVILLE- Dewey David "Shadow" Hamrick, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late David and Eliza Carswell Hamrick. He worked 45 years at Doran Textiles, and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. Dewey Served in the National Guard.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Ruth Barnett Hamrick; brothers, J.T., Harrill, Jim, Archie, and Ben Hamrick; sisters, Vassey Hoppes, Ruth Barnette, Elizabeth Morehead, and Eva Champion; grandson, Rickey Hamrick Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Bourgeois

SURVIVED: He is survived by his son, Rickey Hamrick and wife Julie of Shelby; daughter, Della Proctor of Cherryville; sisters, Martha Greene of Boiling Springs and Catherine Oliver of Polkville; brother, Johnny Hamrick of Shelby; grandchildren, Brandy Canipe, Jerry Hamrick, Angela Dorsey, Ashley, Patrick, Robert, and Savannah Hamrick; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Atlanta, Briley, Adyline, Hayden, Andrew, Kenlee, Natalie, Harley, and Camden; special friends, Ronnie Dorsey, Jimmy Day, and James Trivette; niece and nephew, Denise and Keith Oliver; and many other nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11a.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6-7:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery with military honor's

CLERGY: Rev. Richard Lancaster will officiate
