Diane White Davis

Diane White Davis was born on December 5, 1947 to the late Mr. Thurman C. White and Ms. Ollie Mae White. She passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 60 years, William "Willie" P. Davis Sr.

Diane graduated from Shelby High School in 1965 and married Willie the same year on Christmas Day. After graduating high school she attended Limestone College where she majored in Home Economics. After graduating from Limestone College she followed her husband during his service in the United States Army where she spent time in the home raising their two sons, Perry and David. Following her time raising her children and supporting her husband during his military service, she was able to fulfill many positions in the crisis and childcare fields. She spent her time as Director of Kings Mountain Crisis Ministry and Director and Head Teacher of Trinity Day School.

She later went on to become the Church and Community Ministries Assistant for Kings Mountain Baptist Association and the Assistant Director/Services Coordinator for United Family Services. After her time at United Family services she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Human Services and graduated in 1998 from Gardner Webb University. She finalized her career working for Cleveland County Schools as the Head Start Family and Community Partnerships Manager where she retired in 2012. She was very active in her church and held many positions. She spent many years as the Church Historian for Eastside Baptist Church. She was the Assistant Sunday School Superintendent for a number of years, a member of the choir, a mission leader in prayer group, a member of the prayer shawl and prayer garden committees. She was also a member of the Cleveland County Commission for Women.

Diane enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cake decorating and most importantly spending time with her family. She hosted many family gatherings at her home throughout the years. Her most favorite time of the year was Christmas. She had a strong passion for giving to others.

She is survived by her two sons; William "Perry" Davis Jr. and wife Shannon and David Dwayne Davis and wife Tonia all of Kings Mountain. She also had four grandchildren; David Dwayne Mayes of Lincolnton, NC, Miranda Davis Suttles (Dustin) of Cowpens, SC, Lacey Davis Shackelford (Christopher) of Kings Mountain, NC and William "Blake" Davis (Kristin) of Kings Mountain, NC; five great-grandchildren; Noah, Weylon, Nevaeh, Annmarie and Thoren as well as a very special sister, Theresa Bridges.

The family would also like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff at White Oak Manor for their phenomenal care they provided to Diane during this time.

Services for Diane will be held at 3:00 on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Eastside Baptist Church 1165 Wyke Road Shelby, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-2:45 in the church sanctuary.

Burial will follow the service and will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1022 Oak Grove Road Kings Mountain, NC
