Donald Camp
Mr. Donald (Don) Camp, 88, of Shelby, NC, transitioned peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on June 28, 1937 in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Rev. Lucious Camp and Lena Bowden Camp.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. J.Q. Camp, Thomas Camp, William Camp June Bowden, and Eula James Camp; his sisters, Ceslie Perkins and Julia Brooks; grandchildren, Travis Camp and Nigel Cullins; son-in-law, Andrew Ussery; and sister-in-law, Mary Edna Miller.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mrs. Nanette Camp, of the home; children, Eddie Camp (Beverly) of Shelby, David Camp (Hattie) of Kings Mountain, Linda Alexander, Sandra Ussery, Donnis Woods (John), Audrey Burris, Abbigal Brooks, and Christopher Oglesby, all of Shelby; and Quinten Cullins of Atlanta, GA; and one reared in the home, Chavon (Ham) Miller. He is also survived by a sister, Ella Mae Watson; sisters-in-law, Lottie Camp of Charlotte, NC and Karen Gaffney of Forest City, NC; brother-in-law, Jimmy Miller of Forest City, NC; nineteen cherished grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church family, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Burial took place at Golden Ridge Baptist Church cemetery.
