Donald Eugene Ramsey, 70, of Shelby, passed away on March 23, 2026.

Donald retired from the Cleveland County School Transportation Department after many years of service. He had a talent for working with his hands and helping others. Those close to him will also remember his wonderful singing voice, which brought joy to those who heard him.

Above all, Donald was a family man. His greatest pride was his family, and he especially loved being a grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, music, and a deep love for his home.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eula Ramsey.

He is survived by his wife, Melody Ramsey; his son, Derek Ramsey; and his daughter, DeAnna Ramsey. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Jeffrey and Thatcher, who he loved very much, and his brothers, Gregory Ramsey, and Christopher Ramsey.

A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 29, 2026 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
